HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut Attorney General William Tong has tested positive for COVID-19, becoming the latest top state official to contract the coronavirus.

Tong, 48, was experiencing mild symptoms and will remain in isolation for five days, according to a news release from his office Wednesday. The Democratic attorney general is fully vaccinated and boosted, his office said.

The announcement of Tong’s positive COVID-19 test came the same day that Gov. Ned Lamont left quarantine after testing positive for the virus last week.

Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz and state Treasurer Shawn Wooden also tested positive for the virus this week and are isolating at home. Bysiewicz said she was feeling well, and Wooden said he was experiencing mild symptoms. Both Democrats are fully vaccinated and boosted.
