MERIDEN — Two yrs ago, as a sophomore at Maloney Superior Faculty, Havi Nguyen was introduced to laptop or computer science and coding.

Nguyen stated she was primarily drawn to the challenge-resolving factor of coding.

So upcoming fall, she will start finding out pc science at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Nguyen hopes to one day operate for a firm that takes advantage of engineering to assistance some others, including those with disabilities or language limitations.

That vocation goal is a continuation of operate that started at Maloney.

During her many years in large school, Nguyen compiled a cumulative 4.8 quality point ordinary. But she did not just target on lecturers and learning. 

“I wished to make the most of my time right here,” she reported. So Nguyen turned thoroughly involved in a number of golf equipment, such as her school’s LEO Club and the Black Pupil Alliance.

Nguyen grew up in Meriden. Her mother is Kimanh Vu and her father is Do Nguyen. She has a brother who is 21. 

Nguyen attended Thomas Hooker Elementary Faculty and Thomas Edison Center School. She recalled when she was in fifth grade that an educator, who wasn’t her teacher, produced a prediction.
